März 2010, Auf dem Weg nach Lingen/Ems aufgenommen aus dem Auto

Seit fast zwei Wochen bin ich nun wieder zu Hause und bin doch schon wieder viel unterwges. Nach ein paar tagen bei meinem Freund in Lingen bin ich gestern Abend in Berlin angekommen und habe meine kleine Schwester überrascht.Ich bin zum ersten Mal in ihrer Wohnung in Berlin und diesen Umstand feierten wir gleich mit Pizza vom Italiener unten im Haus und einer Flasche wein.

Die letzten Tage konnte ich fast jeden Abend wunderschöne Sonnenuntergänge genießen, welche den Himmel in ein traumhaftes Licht tauchten. Hier in Berlin ist es leider ziemlich grau, was uns allerdings nicht davon abhalten wird eine Fototour durch Berlin zu starten und Knöpfe für mein Schwesterlein zu kaufen.

Im Laufe des Tages werden also weitere Fotos folgen.

Daraus kann man schließen, dass sich der Blog wahrscheinlich ein wenig verändern wird und es nicht mehr bei nur einem Foto am Tag bleibt. Aber die Überlegungen dazu werden wohl ersten in den nächsten Wochen Gestalt annehmen, denn ab Dienstag klopft das letzte Semester an die Tür und da will nochmal fleißig gearbeitet werden.Yeeeeaaaahhhh.

I'm at home for nearly to weeks now and still I have been on the run a lot.After spending a few days in Lingen with my boyfriend, I arrived in Berlin yesterday evening to surprise my little sister. It's the first time I see her new apartment and we celebrated this circumstance with pizza and a bottle of wine.

During the last days I enjoyed a couple of stunning sundowns which painted the sky in amazing colour. In Berlin it's rather greyish but that won't keep us from going on a phototour and buying buttons for my sister.

More photos will follow during the day.

From this, one can suggest that my blog will change a little. Means: more photos...

I'm not quite sure in which direction this will lead but thoughts will develop throughout the next weeks, for I have to work some more because I start my last semester on tuesday. Yeeeeaaahhh.

The Foggy Dew

I took the picture on one of the last days with my boyfriend. When I saw it again later I immediately thought of the painting by Caspar David Friedrich. As one of THE painters of romanticism, most of his pictures show the romantic idyll but within a lot lies a melancholic, sacred mood.

Before I'll go to bed there's a song I want to share with you, of which I was reminded today watching the great movie 'Waking Ned Devine' ('Lang lebe Ned Devine'). It's shot on the 'Isle of Man' and it is a wonderful, lively story about friendship and solidarity.

The song isn't in the movie but the beautiful irish landscape brought it somehow to my mind. It's an irsih ballad from 1919, written by Canon Charles O'Neill and I used to sing it with my sister or my dad.

The Foggy Dew (Easter Rising)

The Pills don't work

Germany is stucking in a deep, cold winter and I'm sweating like hell.

Maybe this is why I choosed to post a picture from a previous winter.

I really could need some fresh, coll air and I wouldn't be sad about some snow.

But there's no snow in El Salvador, there never has been snow, so I'll have to wait until I get home.

Unfortunately the snow will be gone by then I think.

Anyway, my back got better and I'm moving arround again. It still feels kind of strange becaue I'm expecting my back to hurt again but it gets better and better.

Most of the time I lay arround and so there was nothing else to do but watch movies, read blogs, or call all my family members in a row.

I watched 'Sherlock Holmes' the other night and it's a pretty funny movie. Especially the way Holmes and Watson talk to each other is kind of a telegraph style and they are arguing like old woman.

I wanted to watch 'The men who stare a goats' today but my computer is so slow...(yeah I'm freaking out and quite a time I try not to shout mean things)

Well my days are somehow boring and I'm telling you just boring stuff because there's nothing happening when you have to stay in bed all day.

I worked on some pictures today and I'm still busy thinking about my future and studies and so on. I'm trying to figure out a way I could afford artstudies in Holland but I'm still not sure how and when and it drives me crazy.

Future sucks (at least, at the moment).

Well, I would write more and more thoughtfull stuff but painkillers make me dizzy and my back still hurts (So what are those painkillers supposed to do?...Work little lazy pill, work!)

I'm trying to get better and to share more meaningfull things with you tomorrow.

I'm not really in the mood for writing, because my back hurts like hell.

I had to go to the 'hospital' today (and I can tell you, it's pretty different from the ones we have in germany) because I couldn't move suddenly.

I still not know what happend to my back, but it hurt so bad I blacked out in the bathroom (FortunateIy I was allready sitting because I couldn't stand anymore as for the pain)

I'm drugged write now with three pills and two injections and without any diagnosis.

So..if I'm better tomorrow there will be more writing.

I've thought a lot about life today. We went to visit two pregnant woman, or better two pregnant teenage girls. 17 and 18 years old. I just don't get it.

They throw there life away just because they are too lazy and too ashamed to take some pills or to get an injection. They hadn't even finished school yet. I just don't get it.

When I came home, my boyfriend had written that he would be online later because his granny was brought to the hospital. It gave me such a shock. Because my grandparents all passed away, I kind of found new ones in his'.

He grew up in their house and they are like grandparents mostly are considered to be. She is an unbelievable cook and collects china and he's a bit strict and sometimes grumpy but they are such warm and loving people.

Well, I hope she gets better soon.

I also talked to my little sister. It was her birthday and she felt kind of lonely allthough she had friends over at her place for coffee and chocalatecake. But her boyfriend couldn't be there and so she was a bit sad at the end of the day.( I actually think we are kind of like this, because I always get sad on my birthday....don't know why...maybe crying over the year that passes away)

I tried to encourage her and I think it worked.

Anyway...that was my day. I managed to do some sports, finished my blogentry on my Costa Rica vacation, went out to eat Pupusa with my roommate and listened to some music, which I didn't do for a long time.

Inkonsequenz

Mein Beitrag zum ehrenWORT

Heute mal in Deutsch. Der Tag gestaltete sich mal wieder recht ereignislos.Wie immer. Nach sechs Stunden Arbeit in der Bäckerei und der Raumanmeldung für unseren Tanzkurs habe ich mich an den Laptop gesetzt und mit meiner Mum telefoniert.

Das Gespräch:
Ich: Und was läuft so? Was gibt's neues?
Mutter: Ich sitz hier gard noch über Schulsachen...ach und ich finde meine ganzen Unterlagen für die SE-zeugnisse nicht mehr. Vielleicht hab ich die in der Schule liegen lassen.
Ich: Soso....ich hab nix gemacht. Naja war arbeiten, wie immer halt.
Mutter: Ich reg mich ja so auf im Moment.
Ich: Wie? Worüber?
Mutter: Ach in der Schule hatten wir ja jetzt Zeugniskonferenzen und es geht mal wieder um das leidige Thema Kopfnoten.
Ich: Ja und?
Mutter: Na da haben wir uns hingesetzt und für alle Schüler unserer Klasse faire und passende Kopfnoten gegeben und dann....*aaaaaaahhhhhhhh* kommt bei der Konferenz ein Lehrer und meint er würde seinen Schülern nur gute Kopfnoten geben.
Ich: *stirnrunzel* Und wieso das?
Mutter: Ja, er hat die größte Chaotenklasse und meint er wolle denen mit ihrem Halbjahreszeugnis jetzt nicht die Chancen auf ne Bewerbung versauen.
Ich: So und das will er durch unberechtigte Noten erreichen...sehr schlau der Herr.
Mutter: JAJA, und jetzt meinen die anderen im Team wir müssen die Noten auch anheben um unsere Schüler nicht zu benachteiligen...und ich mach da aber nicht mit hab ich gesagt. Kollege, hab ich gesagt, das kann ich nicht verantworten und das will ich auch gar nicht....wenn ihr meint das machen zu müssen, dann macht es selber...ich unterschreibe nichts *haarerauf*.
Ich: Und wieso zum Teufel machen die das *noch mehr stirnrunzel*?

Mutter: Na sie sagen weil man die Schüler nicht benachteiligen will und....ahahahaha, jetzt kommts...weil die Gymasien das auch so machen. Und das beste kommt noch....die Fehlzeiten lassen sie einfach weg mit der Begründung das ja einige Klassenbücher nicht da sind und ich hab mich extra noch hingesetzt und alle Entschuldigungen durchgeschaut.
Ich:*mittlerweile sehr wütender Gesichtsausdruck* Wie kommt man bloß zu sowas.....weißt du was denen fehlt. Die Konsequenz...diese Schule besteht aus einem einzigen inkonsequenten Haufen................................................

So oder in so ähnlich führten wir das Gespräch noch eine Weile fort. Es macht sehr viel Spaß sich mit meiner Mama über meine Ex- und ihre aktuelle Lehranstalt aufzuregen, auch wenn ich weiß das es für sie hartes Brot ist...sie muss immerhin noch dort arbeiten. aber mal ehrlich....Entweder man gibt Kopfnoten oder nicht. Wenn man sich dafür entscheidet dann macht man es auch richtig und lässt die Schüler nicht mit überbewerteten Leistungen zu Bewerbungsgesprächen gehen (wie fair ist das denn bitte). Meiner Meinung nach hat ein Lehrer die Aufgabe bzw. die Pflicht den Schüler fair und vor allem realistisch zu beurteilen, sonst wird da nämlich ganz schnell ein Selbstläufer drauß.'Ich wieso soll ich noch was für die Noten tun? Ihr habt mir doch ne 2 gegeben.'
Ich könnte mir jedenfalls jedesmal die Haare raufen und laut schreien wenn ich sowas höre...und das die anderen Lehrer da so einfach mitmachen....die springen wahrscheinlich auch in den Rhein (ja Kölnerin) wenn's einer vor ihnen tut....

Wo leben wir denn, dass Schüler jetzt noch nicht einmal mehr in der Schule eine ihren Leistungen entsprechende Bewertung bekommen....da kann man seine Noten ja gleich bei ebay ersteigern. Da ist es dann wenigstens noch spannend.

Nun ja das Gespräch endete dann doch noch erheiternd mit dem Vorschlag meine Mutter solle doch unter all den jungen Kollegen und Kolleginnen, die jetzt Gott sei dank, nach und nach an der Schule anfangen, eine heimlich Kuppleragentur aufmachen, damit auch immer schön jemand schwanger ist und meinen Mama ihren Job behalten kann....Halbe Stellen gibt es nämlich auch für qualifizierte Leute nur dann wenn Not am Mann bzw. der Frau ist das.
tttssssss.....deutsches Bildungswesen....das ich nicht lache

Schreibt mir eure Meinung...zur Bildung, zu Kopfnoten, zur Kuppleragentur....wozu auch immer....

Scopion/El Salvador

This is my actual entry for today.This Week was scorpion week. I came across many discusting, strange and even dangerous animals.

So this week I've met my first scorpion. And it wasn't so nice because I actually was in the bathroom sitting on the toilette. I usually check the room before I go in, because I don't really like to meet those animals. So, I was sitting there and suddenly I recognized something black on the wall next to me. I mean, it was really close. A scorpion. A big one.

Well, I moved very slowly out of the room, informed one of the boys living in the house with us and he killed it with the words 'yeah, yeah their like really dangerous.'

Well, thanks for that information.

So I thought this was a one-time-ocurrancy.

Nääääääääääääääääääät.It wasn't.

After dinner tonight we walked into our room and I nearly stepped into another scorpion.

It was sitting on the floor, tail upright and it scared the hell out of us.

We jumped on my bed, and screamed for the boys to rescue us.

(Brave Junglegirls:P)

Nobody came. We sat there and I was hoping that the scorpion would somehow maybe transform itself into Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson. It didn't.

So no Scorpion King today.

By the time we agreed that it maybe was allready dead and we could simply kick it out of the room, one of the guys came and solved our problem.

I really hope that's it for the next month because I do not really agree with killing them but on the other hand I have just no idea how to deal with something like that.

Even googeling 'scorpions' couldn't help to identify if it is really poisen or just nothing.

We watched FAME today(the new one) and now I'm going to sleep with my heart crying for dance. I miss it so much and I have no idea why I actually stoped.

Of course I never would have been where I've been if I continued my dancesudies, but I quit dancing at all. And I don't know why. My body longs for it, my mind, my soul. I'm feeling like half of the person I'm normally am. My next goal to achieve in 2010, is: DO SOMETHING.

My actual situation has not much room for me as a dancer but I'm going home in five weeks and back there I have to start dancing again, whatever it takes.

I met this amazing cat while vaccinating in 'Milagro de la Paz'. I've met a bunch of strange, funny animals over there.

Isn't it gorgeous how she's starring like a foreign egyptian goddess or so.

I totally like the painting of her fur, that little dotted spot.

I came accross that great Blog 'The Catorialist'. It's amazing, my little tiger at home will love it. He's huge and so funny. His name's Mogli and whenever he has the opportunity he places himself into the smallest box or basket. He stares at me and sais: 'määäääääääaaaaaaauuuuum'. That means 'I really do like it here, it's so comfotable even if it doesn't look like it'. Sometime I think I'll understand why he's doing this...especially in the moments when I'm so tired, I could fall asleep nearly everywhere.(Sometimes I'm not tired at all; I just like sleeping way too much)

Well so far for the cats. Another day's ending and I'm counting down until the 28th of feburary. Home again.

I can't wait to sleep in my own bed again and to start all those projects and stuff that are on my mind. I'm just way too uncreative at the moment(besides blogging).

There are a few things (actually a lot of few things) on my to-do list when I'm back home.

1.Get a immense, huge breakfast with Salami, eggs, fruitsalad....and so on

2.Just hang out with my family and my boyfriend in front of the TV

3.Doing lots and lots of things together with my boyfriend

4.Send a picture to 'What Katie Wore', Section 'What You Wore' (just love this blog)

5.Start making cloths and selling my old stuff on the fleemarket (getting some new stuff there, too)

6.Buying all seasons of 'Two and a half Men'

7.....

As you can see, I'll have a lot to do before university starts again. And besides all this I still have to develop my bloggingskills. But enough for today. I'm tired, tomorrow is bakery day and I still have to finish the Harry Potter 7 audio book(it's endless if you always fall asleep at 7:38:05...but I'll give it another try)

Today's football game

Today was all about football. My favourite club lost 2:3 and I'm still not sure how long they will keep up in first league. But HOPE is everything. Therefor the local football club in our village in El Salvador, won today's game 3:0. Football over here is very different and even if I would never consider myself a footballpro, I can tell they play a lot more uncoordinated. But, they still are very strong and persistent.

In Germany I used to go to the footballgames of my boyfriend's club. We have our own little womensfangroup and, the truth is, we are a lot worse then the boys in swearing.

NO HOOLIGANS THOUGH. We're just good at teasing.(I'll guess that's a woman's thing)

After all we are faithfull fans that even stand out in rain or snow to watch our boys.

What I was thinking about is, why the hell is Football so damn popular. Why not Basketball or Kricket (well ok I know why it isn't Kricket...has anyone ever watched a Kricketgame? I fell asleep).

But Football gains such a popularity and even ends up in streetwar between different groups of Hooligans. I don't get it.

Well that might be it for today...or if I'm up to it, I'll go on later.

That's it for today. I didn't do much. We went out to 'Milagro de la Paz' to vaccinate people against flue. It was pretty boring because we stayed there from 9:30 until 12:30 and just few people came. Bad advertising I guess. At home I fell asleep and woke up when it was dark outside...strange feeling...brrrr.

I missed my boyfriends call because I went outside to get some fresh air.Damn it.

Tomorrow is Saturday and I will stay here to finally see him again on ICQ.

Campamento de la Guerilla in Perquín/El Salvador

Just a few words today, because I'm tired and I have to get up at seven.

Today I've visited three babys. Just a month old. Their mother's aged between 19 and 23.

I'm not sure wether they want to have babys or just don't know better.

The 23 year old has allready three more children. It confused me.

Later that day we went to the Guerilla museum in Perquin to visit the guerilla camp built during civilwar. That's where I took the photo. It always makes me sad, seeing this part of the country I'm living at the moment. But it is and always will be their history. So we do better not forgetting it.

My boyfriend is still waiting for his new netbook (DELL sucks) and I'm waiting for the time to pass by. I'm missing him like hell.

Today was my first day, working in the 'babystation'. I like it very much, alltough I didn't do that much today, but I'll go on with that.

We (means the nurse, well I don't know if she's really a nurse but kind of, and me) visited seven families and I saw a lot more of the community.

Time went by and after lunch I got home with a bad headache. I still not recovered so I'm going to bed early. I'm missing my boyfriend a lot and I try to avoid sparetime.

I did no sports today (humhum, bad girl) and I had to many chocolate cookies.

What made me feel better: watching 'Two & a Half Men' on youtube (It's sooooooo hilarious, I just love it), finishing my second blogentry about my vacation in Costa Rica and I clicked myself through all those gorgeous black&white by Karl Lagerfeld. I love it.

So far...I'm going to bed now

The baghat is sort of today's essence. We (my roommate, her boyfriend and me) did nothing but lying in bed, watching stuff on the internet and daffing arround.

I had breakfast and after that cokies with chocolate and 'Wonka Nerds'.

All in all, it was the most amazing lazy day I tried to avoid although I knew my inside longed for it.

I struggled a lot with my modd today, feeling all grumpy and nerdy. My thoughts stucked in my mind and I felt so overstrained.

Stressing myself, without the need of it, as always.

Doing nothing but starring at my computer I came across quite a bunch of amazing blogs, which I have to share with you.

Some I know for a while, others I just found but all are inspiring, creative, interesting, amazing.......Oh I could go on with that.

First of all the fabulous blog anders-anziehen by smilla. I can't even remember how I came across this one, but because of her curiosity for intersting people and what they wear, I feel a little less homesick. Go and see for yourself...

Because I'm into writing too, I try to go for the challenges of 'Sunday Scribbling s',another amazing blog, so I found 'Life with Freckles'. Gabe is blogging about life and things she's interested in and I really like her style of writing and telling stories.

There you go...

Yesterday I watched, 'The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou' by Wes Anderson. This amazing, imaginative, silent comedy, tells the story about the wintery oceanographer and filmmaker Steve Zissou and his crew on the prowl for a giant shark that ate the oceanographers best friend.

Imbedded in the story of the sharkhunt, Anderson tells a Father and Son-Story, develops cranky characters and shows the struggle of a man in his midlife-crisis, who's not willing to let any adventure slip away.

What I like about the movie is the combination of the 'kind of' oldschool adventuremovie and the portrait of a resigning, self struggling man who's trying so hard to keep his crew together but fails because of beeing so egocentrical and stubborn.
Bill Murray is doing an excellent job, giving his character a slightly haggard but still dignified aura.
Also in the movie: Owen Wilson, Cate Blanchett, Angelica Houston, Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe (I watched the german version where he's speaking in a very funny accent.)

After a night with little sleep and dreams about giant jaguar sharks and submarines, today started to be the 'making-day'. I cleand the room, washed some shirts and shorts and went to San Luis to arrange my job for the last to month of my stay.
Then I went to Gotera to finally send home all the postcards from the US and Costa Rica.
Pick-Up's where a real mess today. Too many people, no seats at all. My arms still hurt.

Well, I'm off now. My brother called and I'm dying to take a little nap after talking to him.

Homesick

I've skipped the first week of january because I spent it with my boyfriend. It was our last week together before he flew back to Germany. I'm feeling kind of homesick now he's gone.
So I started the blog today with a more or less old picture, I took in Washington last year.
I'm still not sure how to spread my blog, it isn't worth the work if it's only me reading.
I will think this through while watching a movie. There's nothing else to do at 8:30 in El Salvador.
I'll tell you (whoever you'll be) about the movie, the solution for my publicity problem and the upcoming day.
